What We Do – Vision, Mission, Goals

The Williston State College Foundation is a nonprofit agency that manages donations made by community members and alumni to the college and its students. We identify wise investments, and fund student scholarships, quality faculty, and capital improvements to Williston State College. The Foundation is governed by an independent board of 11 directors that meets monthly.

Our Mission

The Williston State College Foundation partners with the College by building relationships with alumni, donors and surrounding communities; generating financial support; funding student and faculty development scholarships; and leading capital expansion to develop a thriving, state-of-the-art campus.

Our Vision

The Williston State College Foundation works to keep the college competitive and comprehensive in today’s ever-changing market by developing a strong liberal arts transfer program, advanced science and technology, and technical and trade specialization, while making Williston State a regional center for educational, cultural and recreational activity.

Our Goals for 2009

1. Communications. To improve the Foundation’s communications in order to build relationships more effectively with alumni, donors and the surrounding community, including a website, annual report, news reports and media ads.

2. 2009 Alumni Directory. To rebuild our alumni database, publish a directory, develop networking strategies and schedule alumni events.

3. Membership Drive. To manage a membership drive to increase the base of community investors in the Williston State Promise.

4. Expand Scholarships. To increase student scholarships and work more intentionally with WSC Recruitment Director Roxane Molanari to target students within a 150-mile radius of the college.

5. Capital Campaigns.
To begin fundraising campaigns for a new student union/pub, a renovated math, science and pre-engineering building, and a fine arts center.

6. Community Advocates.
To develop relationships with advocates of Williston State College, including high school liaisons or counselors, in communities within 150 miles of WSC.
